Public Transportation Strike May Take Effect November 1, 2016 in Philadelphia

A public transportation strike may take effect in the city of Philadelphia at 12:00 AM on Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Examinees planning to take the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) exam in Philadelphia should note that, in the event of a strike, the Philadelphia Clinical Skills Evaluation Collaboration (CSEC) test centers will remain open, but it may take longer to reach the test centers due to traffic delays and/or very limited public transportation options. Please monitor the SEPTA website for the most up to date details on the potential strike, including alternate service plans.

Step 2 CS - Limited Hotel Availability in Philadelphia April 2017

Please be advised that between April 27, 2017 and April 29, 2017, hotel availability in Philadelphia will be limited and rates may be higher than usual. Examinees planning to take the USMLE® Step 2 Clinical Skills (CS) exam in Philadelphia should note that while the Philadelphia Clinical Skills Evaluation Collaboration (CSEC) test centers will remain open, it may be difficult and/or more expensive to obtain a hotel room during this time.

Welcome to the website of the Clinical Skills Evaluation Collaboration (CSEC)! We are pleased to offer this new site as a resource to institutions worldwide with an interest in developing and administering clinical skills assessments of health care professionals.

A collaboration of the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG®) and the National Board of Medical Examiners® (NBME®), two of the world’s leaders in evaluating the qualifications of physicians and other health care professionals, CSEC is a leader in assessing clinical skills. CSEC tests all aspects of the clinical encounter, including communication and interpersonal skills, patient examination, spoken English proficiency, and clinical reasoning.

CSEC offers full-service development of standardized patient-based clinical skills examinations. It also provides customized consultation and faculty development services to clients worldwide and test administration services in its network of dedicated U.S. test centers. All of CSEC’s services can be customized and scaled to meet the needs of your institution.
